and I was like.....hã?? come again?? fight what?? fight whom?? totally lost
so, apparently there is this guy called floyd (flower - like I called him once) mayweather that never lost a fight and the challenger is this other guy called manny pacquiao or like he likes to be called pac-man.
if you are the same as me and the only interest you have in boxing was watching a rocky movie, than let me introduce you these famous people (to anyone but us)
on one side we have manyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy (runned out of breath) pacquiao
i first knew that manny pacquiao was a person when I saw him on several adverts for asia national geographic (it is one of the few channels in english, so I watch it quite a lot.... unfortunately :p)
he does adds to teach people to survive natural disasters, like floods, earthquakes, and so on.
he has one of those faces that you instantly like, not sure why. maybe it is his big expressive brown/ black eyes, maybe it's his smile, but surely there is something about him that makes him lovable.....or is it just me??
when you look to one of his photos you may think of many things but not that he his a boxing fighter, right??
apparently, manny is a big hero in philippines, where his come from. it is said that he gives a lot to the phillippine people but I do not know that for sure.
doing a quick research online you can find other info about him and some of the controversy he has been involved with as well.
aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaannnnnnnnnnnnnnnnd on the other side, the indisputable champion of welterweight unification (not really sure of what this means, copied from wikipedia, please don't tell anyone), he his the grand floyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyydeee mayweather
i only found out about mayweather at the same time as the fight and the only things that I have heard about him, apart that he has been one of the greatest fighters so far is that he was charged by domestic violence crimes. not good man, not good...
apart from that, it seems that this guy is pretty good at what he does. i thought to my self, if they are saying that this is the fight of the century and these two guys have such a great record of fighting, this will be like a rocky film full of excitement. i can't miss this opportunity.
so got together with some friends and decided to watch the match on sunday. to our surprise the pub we went to see the game was packed - i forgot we were the only ones that did not know them.
and were did we end up?? you would never guess. i'm even ashamed to say it. i'll whisper....hooters
before you start judging, it was the only place we found with seats and food, and i was starving. I had waken up very early to be at the pub by 10:30 to watch the fight, so I deserved to be seated for the next couple of hours. and besides, shanghai hooters is way far from the american hooters. the girls were just so sweet and shy, they were adorable more than hooters(ish) for lack of a better word.
back to the fight...
first of all i was very surprised, mostly amused to see that our beloved flower, pardon, floyd mayweather is being supported by the most hated canadian in the world (now, this is an accomplish in itself) justin bieber.
we have to give a big round of applause for the mayweather marketing team. so much build up, so much advertising for the fight, making it be most wanted show in the face of the earth, getting so much money in advertising and all that s*** and then what we get is.....
the fight was a disappointment for me, but I guess rocky is to blame.
I have no idea regarding boxing, so I can not say if it was a good fight or not. even if just technically speaking.
in the end, i did have a good time with my friends and the girls from hooters even performed a dance in the end of the match. no i won't upload the video you sick twisted mind (send me a private message and I will send it to you)
hope you too had a good sunday
